I Am a Christian, and a Christian I Shall Remain
Jesse Johnson writes of the reality of Christian persecution in Sudan. Jesse writes: “Meriam Yehya Ibrahim is married, 27-years-old, mother to a 20-month old son, 8-months pregnant, and last week was sentenced to death for being a Christian.” Read it and pray for Meriam.

The Word is a Seducer
Ligonier Ministries posted this excellent piece from R. C. Sproul that reminds believers of the threat of the seduction of the world. R. C. writes: “The world is a seducer. It seeks to attract our attention and our devotion. It remains close at hand, visible and enticing. It eclipses our view of heaven. What is seen vies for our attention. It entices our eyes, preventing us from watching for a better country whose builder and maker is God. It pleases us—much of the time, anyway— and, alas, we often live our lives to please it. That is where conflict ensues, for pleasing the world seldom overlaps with pleasing God.”

False Teacher – Joseph Smith
As we continue our re-post of Tim Challies “Famous False Teachers” series, we look today at Joseph Smith. Challies writes: “The heart of Joseph Smith’s false teaching was that he put his own authority over the authority of Scripture. He added his own revelation to the Bible’s revelation and took it upon himself to identify and correct what he claimed were errors in Scripture. Smith believed that the Bible was corrupt and insufficient and for that reason both took away from, and added to, God’s written revelation.”
