Every Christian knows there is an ongoing struggle with sin in this life. Being justified freely by God’s grace doesn’t free us from a battle with sin; in many ways it introduces it. Before being saved, a sinful life was no struggle at all. But what happens if a believer becomes overtaken by sin – seemingly trapped in a lifestyle that denies the faith they claim and the power of Christ they trusted? The church must respond. Being deeply moved by the reality of sin must move us to act. Just like Jesus did. Just like Jesus commands.
