From the series “Commissioned to Change the World.” Acts 2:22-36. Surely any message that results in 3000 conversions to the gospel has much to teach us; and Peter’s sermon at Pentecost does that. But, we must also acknowledge that Peter’s sermon was the fruit of many years of God’s dealing with His people to fit them for the gospel. The pattern of preaching is established by Peter – the power of the gospel is displayed in those converted – the work of God to fit those who would believe is an awesome consideration.
