From the series “Commissioned to Change the World” Acts 2:22-36. The crowd hearing Peter’s sermon on the day of Pentecost asked a very important question: “What shall we do?” Powerful preaching demands a decision. Why? What produces the sincere inquiry? Conviction; the powerful, painful, convicting of the Holy Spirit. This comes from the Word of God which always divides asunder – tears open the human heart – and produces the despairing cry: “What shall I do?” May God grant the conviction that leads to repentance!
