Pastor Steve share’s these links to stimulate some Thursday Thoughts…
Are You Scared? … The culture around us is changing at an alarming pace — that’s before any alarms go off as to the changes themselves. Just this morning I listened to an interview with a man in Washington state who is raising his son “species-less”; wanting the child to be free to choose for himself what species he is. Recently, it seems, he is leaning toward a squirrel. Tim Lane writes some excellent encouragement for these sometimes scary times: “When you reflect on the past month in the U.S. — the recent SCOTUS rulings, racial tension and debates over immigration policy, to name a few — do you find yourself pessimistic and fearful or optimistic and hopeful?” You should read the rest HERE.
Some Monday (Thursday) Morning Humor … Kevin DeYoung is a very serious pastor and theologian who also adds some humor to his Monday mornings … here is one from last week: THE TRUST FALL.
Feeling Older? Feeling Useful? … Clare De Graaf writes: “I’m 67 now, and statistically 3/4 of my way through life. Millions of Christian men, baby boomers they call us, are facing the last 1/4 of life and if we’re not careful, we’ll end up like so many, simply killing time pleasantly in warm places. A wasted life! Here’s how to make sure you finish strong.” You can read the rest HERE.
