What is the Vine?

the Vine is the ministry to Junior & Senior High students (6th-12th grade) here at Grace Community Church. The name for this ministry comes from John 15:5 where Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ”

Here at Grace Community Church we want our students to truly recognize their utter need for the Vine, Jesus. We understand that these students are at pivotal point in their life where they are in transition from childhood to adulthood. This means that we must intentionally be active in preparing them for the real world. This is most importantly highlighted in that fact that they must embrace the gospel for themselves. They must realize that before God they cannot hide behind their parents, but need to trust Christ on their own.

With this as our aim, the Vine will primarily focus on the student’s need for Christ. We will highlight their complete depravity (Rom. 3) and lead them to their only hope, God’s grace in Jesus Christ (John 14:6). We want to make sure that they see their true need for Jesus’ substitutionary death on the cross (2 Cor. 5:21). With this clear teaching on the gospel it is our prayer that the Lord will raise up a new generation of leaders in his Church.

Outside of our corporate assembly with the entire church, the Vine meets on Sunday mornings @11:15 in Suite 6.
