Pastor Steve shares these links to stimulate some Thursday Thoughts…

Seventh Day Adventist – A Non-Political Assessment … Nathan Busentitz over at “Preachers and Preaching” writes an excellent (and brief) summary of the Seventh Day Adventist religion. Dr. Ben Carson’s Presidential bid makes this culturally relevant – Christ’s atonement, the sufficiency of Scripture, and the ever-present threat of religious legalism makes it spiritually relevant. You can read the post HERE.

Jesus Calling – Not! … Twice in the past few weeks I’ve been asked about “Jesus Calling”, the wildly popular book by Sarah Young. Tim Challies has summarized the dangers of this book – the same warning we gave the fellowship at Grace over a year ago. Please take the time to read this post which itemizes the issues that are serious indeed. You can read the post HERE.

Under-Programming the Church … While this post is written with pastors and church leaders in view, all of you will benefit from thinking about church life and the compromises that over-programming might present. We tend to be “simple” in our ministry approach and I’m encouraged to have that affirmed by Jared Wilson. You can read the post HERE.
